The occupation of foreign nations in Indonesia for years has greatly affected our culture. Food is one of the cultural aspects that get many influences from other culture. Bistik or Bistik Jawa is a local Javanese adoption of western beefsteak, it usually consists of sliced braised beef served with a thin watery sauce, vegetables and potato.
To preserving their family legacy Bistik Delaris in South Jakarta specializes in a wide variety of bistik menus. The food served here is a menu of their grandmother inheritance.
Bistik Delaris Cipete
Housed in the Cipete, Bistik Delaris is like a sanctuary amid in the bustle of Jakarta. The main entrance of the restaurant is parallel to the highway, but if you go further then you will see a beautiful garden in the middle of the building. In the addition of a restaurant, there is also a kindergarten and headquarters. Besides that, they also have a function room that you can rent for gathering or any special events.
The choices of food here is not much, because they focus on their family’s favourite recipes. On the menu, you can find variations of bistik menu as the main course, appetizer or snacks and drinks.
For the appetizer, we try pastel ayam (Rp 15,000/piece.) and kroketten Sapi (Rp 15,000). The portion of their snacks is pretty big and the filling is generous. Their snacks served with bird eye chillies and spicy peanut sauce.
Otentik bistik komplit ( authentic bistik complete, Rp 55.000) is the mainstay menu at Bistik Delaris. Thinly slices braised beef served with a thin watery sauce, vegetables and wedges potatoes. The beef was tender and had been nicely seasoned, mix the sauce with their sambal terasi and you will get the nice balance between the sauce and spicy sambal.
The next main course is nasi goreng bistik pedas (spicy bistik fried rice, Rp 45,000). The fried rice here come with a shredded beef, fried egg, shrimp crackers and pickles.
