It’s not a typical Saturday… I remember Jakarta is still quiet that day. Sunlight kisses my eyelids, trying to convince me that this is the right time for me to wake up. It so hard for me to climb up the bed because I’m still in Ramadan mood. I’m about to close my eyes again when I remember I have an appointment for cooking class at Gyoza Bar.
Cooking Class at Gyoza Bar Jakarta
It’s 11.42 a.m when I arrive at Delicae Senayan City. Delicae is a new dining venue located on 5th floor of Senayan City, not far from Cinema XXI. The place was crowded because it is weekend and almost lunch time when arrive. It took a while for me to find where is the location for today’s cooking class. When I’m about to ask the direction, I see a reflection of Pak James from the glass wall. There were about 20 people in the room who was ready for Gyoza cooking class.
There are four tables prepared for participants, each table occupied by five people. On the table has available gyoza recipes, apron and gyoza filling for every participant. Before we start making our gyoza, chef Andy Ho from Gyoza Bar teaches us how to make gyoza filling and
After cooking demo session we all returned to our table. There are four kinds of filling provided for us; chicken, shrimp, salmon and veggie. The bright red of veggie filling really caught my attention.
We come back to the kitchen after we finished wrapped our gyoza. This time chef Andy shows us how to cook gyoza properly to get the crispy brownish bottom. While waiting for our gyoza to cook, we take a mandatory group photo before we move to the dining table.
Beside gyoza, we also get miso soup and salad for lunch. And of course, our lunch won’t be complete without a glass of sake and yummy dessert.
